Wayne joined NAI Maestas & Ward in January 2010 as director and broker for NAI Maestas & Ward Business Services, LLC, which specializes in the evaluation, marketing and sale of existing businesses and franchises. He spent the previous 27 years in the business brokerage industry, during which time he oversaw more than 800 business transactions and performed nearly 6,000 business evaluations.

He began his business career managing chambers of commerce in Minnesota and also served eight years as executive vice president of Mickelson Media Inc., negotiating more than $40 million in cable television acquisitions and managing 14 cable television systems.

He consults with business owners throughout New Mexico and is a Rule 706 expert witness for court-ordered business evaluations. Wayne has given hundreds of seminars and published dozens of articles dealing with buying, selling and operating a business and related topics. He recently was a panelist on “Representing the Seller of a Family Business,” a nationwide presentation to the American Bar Association.

Decades of involvement in the Albuquerque Metro area business community have created an in-depth appreciation and knowledge of the local and regional economic climate and business trends for the business brokerage team.
