Albuquerque, New Mexico – April  22, 2013 – In an effort to help those impacted by the tragedy in Boston, the citizens of Albuquerque joined forces to raise funds for victims by running in the Boston Marathon Relief Run.

Albuquerque Running Shop created what is called a “flash run” to raise money for Boston.  Flash runs are races put together on a moment’s notice. Volunteers were involved in checking runners in, handing out water and monitoring the course. For every 2.62 mile laps ran between 6 and 7:30 pm, Albuquerque Running Shop donated up to $1000.00. The Boston Marathon Relief Run rose over $7000.00 in aid money and the funds will be donated to The One Fund Boston and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Theresa James, Bookkeeper at NAI Maestas & Ward, joined over 500 runners this past Tuesday to carry out the cause started by the Albuquerque Running Shop.  Theresa has been running for over 30 years and is extremely passionate about running for causes.
