Albuquerque Real Estate Advisors at NAI Maestas & Ward Finalize Chipotle’s First Location in New Mexico

NAI Maestas & Ward advisor brokers Brett Hills and David Fite have been selected by Chipotle Mexican Grill to serve as the company’s exclusive tenant representatives to assist the company with their move into the New Mexico market. The enormously successful Chipotle which started in Denver, Colorado, has rapidly grown to 1100 stores throughout the US and is still expanding into new geographic areas.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for New Mexico given Chipotle’s reputation for food with integrity, great customer service and our desire to continue to draw national chains to our state,” said Brett. “Chipotle is the hottest “fast-casual” concept in the country, meaning that it is a hybrid concept–neither traditional fast food nor a full service dining establishment.”

“Given the current economic climate and the need to attract quality businesses and good jobs to our state, Chipotle’s move into Albuquerque is great news. The Albuquerque store is the first of six stores that will be opened in New Mexico with 2 to 3 scheduled to be completed in 2012,” David added.

Chipotle Mexican Grill stores are corporately owned unlike many other national chains. Sean Grossetete is the property owner of Chipotle’s first site at the southeast corner of Menaul and Louisiana where the Shoney’s was previously located. Mr. Grossetete’s company, Enviroworks, has begun site preparation and expects to deliver the property in mid-August. It is expected that Chipotle will open in late 2011 or early 2012.
