Real Estate Brokers Find New Use for Industrial Spaces

As the commercial real estate market regains its footing, new uses are being found for older industrially-zoned buildings in the Albuquerque metro area. Such is the case in a transaction that was just completed at 6701 Jefferson NE. NAI Maestas & Ward Advisors Keith Meyer, CCIM, CIOR and Jim Wible completed the lease of 42,000 square feet of space plus seven acres of land that will accommodate seven indoor and two new outdoor courts for a relocating northeast heights volleyball business.

“Charlie’s Sandbox-Indoor Sand Volleyball will now be utilizing a traditional industrial space for recreational use that will permit expanded year-round volleyball leagues. This will bring new energy and opportunities to the evolving Journal Center area,” said Jim.

Keith commented that “It is great that new uses are being found for these industrial properties. Numerous charter schools in Albuquerque have been successful in occupying former industrial spaces. I am pleased to see these buildings being purchased and leased.”
